Compare additional dental insurances
Compare dental insurances in the above scheme and save on the costs of dental care. Below are the steps that you need to follow to find the dental insurance that suits you.
Maximum reimbursement
First, select the desired maximum reimbursement. The maximum reimbursement is the total amount that you can declare annually with your additional dental insurance. If you receive less than 100% reimbursed, it means that you will have to pay a part of each dentist’s bill yourself. Generally speaking, you can opt for a reimbursement up to €250,-, €500,-, €750,-, €1.000,-, or €1.500,-.
An example: you chose a maximum reimbursement of €250,- at a reimbursement percentage of 75%. After a dentist visit you receive a €60,- invoice. 75% of this bill will be reimbursed by your insurer: €45,-. This means that you will keep €250 – €45 = €205,- for the remainder of the year.
Net reimbursement
The net reimbursement is the difference between the total amount you pay annually for premiums and the maximum annual reimbursement of your health insurer. The larger this amount, the more you can save on an annual basis by taking out an additional dental insurance! An example: you pay €12,- per month in premiums for your additional dental insurance. On an annual basis this is €144,-. This dental insurance offers a maximum annual reimbursement of €250,- at a reimbursement percentage of 100%. Your net savings over that year is €106,-.
Sustainability
One of the most commonly used health insurance comparator options is filtering by price. We understand that for most people, the amount of your monthly premium is one of the deciding factors. Therefore, the comparator is filtered by default by price, from low to high.
But today, other factors also play an important role in the dental insurance selection process. One of these factors is the sustainability of health insurers. The filter in the upper right corner of the tool allows you to sort health insurers based on sustainability. This score is based on the independent score of research organization VBDO. By clicking on ‘more information’ per dental insurance, you will get an insight into the sustainability per health insurer.
Medical acceptance (zorgpolis)
Another way in which health insurance policies can be compared is the choice of medical care you have as a patient. Select ‘Direct acceptance’ to only see health insurance policies that give you the freedom to choose any healthcare provider. This type of insurance often has a higher monthly premium compared to policies where you only receive full reimbursement from selected healthcare providers.
